A walk around Shamley Green led by Alan Sandell. The walk started outside the Red Lion pub on Shamley Green. It was an undulating walk through varied countryside in the Surrey Hills, across farmland with some good views, through wooded areas, along an old railway track and close to an old canal. It consisted of two loops and the coffee stop was about half way round, at the other end of Shamley Green to the Red Lion.
The old railway track was the old Guildford to Horsham line which was the only line in Surrey to be closed by Dr Beeching, and is now the Downs Link path and cycleway.
There are more pictures of the walk on the Shamley Green Walk page on the Sandell's web site.
