A walk on 10th October led by Ian & Terry Wilson. We started at the Moat Pond car park in Thursley Road and walked along boardwalks through part of the bog. We then followed a level track through pine woodland before passing the still waters of Warren Mere, where we stopped for coffee. We then passed more hammer ponds created to power the iron industry which flourished here from about the mid 1500s. The ponds are overgrown and barely visible, and in fact the dam between two of them has collapsed. We then climbed a bit for some good views across the countryside before heading back across Thursley Common to the car park.
There are more pictures of the walk on the Thursley Common Walk page on the Sandell's web site.
