Woking Leisure Centre 50+ Club

A walk on 17th November led by Alan Sandell. We started at the Car Park of The Plough Pub in Effingham. On an overcast but warm day considering the time of year the walk took us through Effingham Church grounds, through several open fields (many with horses in them), past some lakes, across Effingham Common and through the varied woodland of Great Ridings Wood back to the pub, where many of us had lunch. It was a mainly level walk but there were a couple of gentle uphill slopes. There were several half stiles (one low bar only). The walk was mainly on footpaths and tracks, but there were a few short stretches along quiet roads. Some of the footpaths and open fields were very wet and very muddy.
