Walk - Wisley Airfield & Common - 20th November 2024

Various photographs taken on the Woking 50 Plus Walk on 20th November led by Ian Wilson. The walk started in Mill Lane just off of the Ockham Roundabout on the A3. We attempted to cross the A3 using the roundabout to take a footpath onto the old Wisley Airfield. However the path had recently been temporarily closed due to the A3/M25 junction roadworks so we had to divert via the road. We were soon walking along the old runway. After a while we left the airfield and used some wooded paths to get to the Chatley Heath Semaphore Tower where we stopped for coffee. From there we returned through woods, passing Bolder Mere on the way, to the runway and back to the starting point. It was a lovely sunny but cold day. Some of us had lunch in the Seven Stars pub in Newark Lane.
